We congratulate Prof. Dr. med. Renate Oberhoffer (TUM School of Medicine and Health, Chair of Preventive Pediatrics) on receiving TUM’s Angela Molitoris Diversity Award.
The award, named in honor of Angela Molitoris—TUM’s first female chancellor—recognizes individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to equal opportunity, diversity, and an inclusive university culture. The award was presented by the Executive Vice President for Talent Management & Diversity, Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, during Prof. Dr. Renate Oberhoffer’s farewell lecture on July 2, 2026.
As Vice Dean for Talent Management & Diversity at the TUM School of Medicine and Health, Prof. Dr. med. Renate Oberhoffer is deeply committed to equal opportunity, diversity, and the promotion of scientific talent. Through innovative programs for early-career researchers, a gender-sensitive approach to medicine and research, and the expansion of family-friendly structures, she has provided important impetus for a diverse and forward-looking university culture.

We invite you to apply for the TUM Diversity Research Prize established by the Staff Unit Diversity & Inclusion to recognize outstanding research that advances diversity, equal opportunities, and social inclusion.
The prize honors bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses that incorporate gender and/or diversity perspectives and contribute to a deeper understanding of inequalities, discrimination, and inclusive societal development.
Each year, the prize is awarded to:
- one bachelor’s thesis,
- one master’s thesis, and
- one doctoral thesis,
with each award endowed with €1,000.
Have you completed a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD thesis at TUM related to diversity, inclusion, equal opportunities, gender, or social justice? Don’t hesitate and submit your application together with your supervisor!
