By establishing a revised evaluation concept based on TUM's comprehensive quality management system, the review of teaching quality is expanded and the transparency of the results is guaranteed by all instances up to the university management.
Not only are each individual lecturer and each individual course evaluated by students at four different levels (Level I), but degree programme and graduate surveys are also conducted every two years (Level II) and external expert evaluations are carried out (Faculty Evaluation 2015). Following appropriate analyses, recommendations for action to improve teaching are made in the quality circle (special meeting of the Curriculum Committee, once per semester) and made transparent (annual report).
As part of the quality strategy, the TUM School of Medicine awards teaching prizes for outstanding achievements in teaching. Further information and the award winners can be found here.
